Here at Costa Blanca Yacht Services we are the authorized supplier, installation and service provider for the Flexofold Folding Propellers here in Torrevieja. These modern propellers offer thrust comparable to fixed propellers in forward drive and better thrust in reverse thanks to improved weight distribution, blade area and shape.
Sailing hull speeds can be increased by as much as 15% compared to fixed 3 bladed propellers.
The latest blade design works efficiently in forward drive and the ideal weight distribution of the heavy blades provides good stopping power. Where there is a need for maximum thrust in adverse conditions customers usually fit 3 blade options.
3 blade shaft drive and all Sail Drive models are offered with Zinc/Alu Anode protection.
All Flexofold propellers are delivered complete, including tools, Loctite and easy to follow installation instructions. This propeller fits directly on to the existing shaft or sail drive. Hub and blades are manufactured using Nickel Aluminum Bronze. Pivot pins and bolts from stainless steel (ANC4).
The blades are synchronized by patented, twin helical gears. Blades are cushioned by strong polyurethane shock absorbers. The pivot pins are secured by special, patented tapered lock bolts.
The Flexofold is compatible with rope cutters. For Sail Drive models a modification is made to the propeller to accommodate the Ambassador Rope Cutter.
